Educational Technology Project
I've experimented with several programs/sites. I use Mind Maps in my Psychology classes, so I tried a couple of Mind Map sites. They are time consuming until I get the hang of the software. Then I tried Slide Share. I searched Psychology and found several excellent slide shows. I also signed up as a follower of The Institute of Psychiatry. I tried to do a poster but needed more time. I also went to Glogster and noticed the $50.00 fee for one year. I didn't join because I don't know exactly it is. They compared themselves to Blogs.
My final selection was the "word clouds". The programs I used for my Presentation were: Wordle.net, Jing, Screencast.com, and Tagxedo. I used words from my Introduction to Psychology course and created several clouds of related words. These tools were user-friendly, creative, colorful, educational, and fun to use. Jing is a wonderful capture tool and Screencast is a great storage site. I am really looking forward to using these tools with my classes. It will be fun and educational for me and my students.

Sixth Sense from TED
Wow. Amazing. For about $350.00, this Sixth Sense Unit is made up of a camera, projection system, mirror, and a link to your cell phone for figuring out and connecting with people and places. Four fingers have tips on them which allows you to draw images on any surface, make a rectangle and take a photo of the scene within, and draw a circle on your wrist which can project as a watch. Things you see with the camera can be analyzed for content such as ecological data, biographical data (for a person), and time-sensitive data (airplane ticket).
This Unit provides exciting possibilities and challenges. We can see/photo a student and his/her data could be projected on their shirt. For example their major, year in school, previous social science classes, and other data. Where to draw the line will be the question: GPA? Attendance? Work history?, Financial Aide? Blood Type? Married/Single? etc. Also remember, the student could have a similiar unit and could access our (teacher's) data. It will be fun and interesting to watch the development of this Sixth Sense Unit.

Little Red Riding Hood 2.0 Video
- It was fun, colorful, informative, creative and entertaining. A very creative way to present the folk tale. Interesting presentation of products. Even though it was in German, it was understandable. Upbeat music, it kept my attention and I wondered what would be presented next.
